Gary W Moon, M. Div., Ph.D., served as the founding Executive Director of the Martin Institute for Christianity and Culture and the Dallas Willard Center for Christian Spiritual Formation at Westmont College and continues to direct their resource development initiatives through serving as the director of Conversatio Divina: A Center for Spiritual Formation.
Dr. Moon formerly served as Assistant and Associate Professor at Regent University. He writes prolifically in the areas, such as the theoretical and practical integration of psychology, theology, and spiritual formation.
He recently completed a biography of Dallas Willard, for which he won the Christian Book Award in BIOGRAPHY & MEMOIR.
Moon writes in areas such as the theoretical and practical integration of psychology, theology & spiritual formation and has published and presented over 300 professional and popular papers. He recently completed a biography of Dallas Willard, for which Moon won the Christian Book Award® in BIOGRAPHY & MEMOIR. Some of his other books in-clude: Eternal Living: Reflections on Dallas Willard’s Teaching on Faith & Formation (IVP, 2015); Apprenticeship with Jesus (Baker Books, 2009); Falling for God (Shaw/Random House, 2004); Spiritual Direction and the Care of Souls (IVP, 2004); Homesick for Eden (Servant, 1997); and a four-volume family devotion series, The Bible Ride (Servant and LifeSprings).

My first encounter with Dr. Gary Moon was through a two year Program offered by the Counseling Department at Regent University. It was referred to as Institute in Clinical Theology. Dr. Moon was the originator and director of this program. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of genuine heart change and transformation in my walk with the Lord. My heart will be forever grateful for the profound impact that Dr. Moon has had on my life. He taught me what true authentic transformation looks like when we truly surrender and allow Christ to be formed in our hearts.
